The good news keeps coming for the Atlanta Classic Cars service department! The 2009 J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Index has ranked us 34th out of 335 Mercedes-Benz Dealerships in the US so far this year! It is great for a large dealership like us to break the top 10%.

We hear so much bad news about the auto industry right now that it seems like every manufacturer is on the brink of collapse. That just isn't the case. The new car side of MBUSA is down about 30% this year. The good news is that the pre-owned side has picked up the slack and is up about 30%! This is the end-of-month press release from MBUSA. It is exciting to see how many new GLKs are now on the road!

I had a great time at the Atlanta Auto Show this year! I enjoyed meeting a lot of enthusiasts and it was an excellent opportunity to check out the competition. I was able to see the new 7-Series, the Q5, the Lexus RX, a VW CC that caught my attention from its commercials. I do have a couple of free passes left if you are near Atlanta Classic Cars and want to go to the show this week.

As part of the recent stimulus bill you can now deduct the taxes that you pay on a new car purchase. If you have been on the fence about purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes versus a new one this may help make that decision. Since most of our models will max out the $49,500 of purchase price that can be used for this deduction, residents of Gwinnett County (6% sales tax) can expect a maximum deduction of $2,970. This deduction is not avaliable for leased vehicles. If you're looking at purchasing a new Mercedes here is an outline of this deduction.

Mercedes has just annouced that the 2009 BlueTEC SUVs will qualify for the federal Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit. This is the same tax credit that has been avaliable on most hybrid vehicles. One interesting thing is that because Toyota and Lexus have already sold their total of eligible vehicles none of their hybrids will qualify for this credit. Here are the details from Mercedes-Benz.

The 2009 Mercedes-Benz models are just around the corner and we are starting to get a little information for the following model years. This information is preliminary and by no means is it set in stone. It is the best information I have available at this time.

Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for the trailer hitch on ML and GL vehicles, 2006 through 2008 with a VIN ending in A419399 and lower. It is recommended that you do not tow anything until the recall work is performed! When you bring the vehicle in for the this work, a certified welder will reweld the seams connecting the trailer hitch receiver to the attachment bar used to secure the trailer hitch to the body frame. It should take about 2 hours to complete.

I am pleased to announce that I have been chosen to receive Master Guild Recognition this year! There are four levels of achievement with Mercedes-Benz -- Certified, Star Certified, Master Certified and finally, Master Guild. The first three levels are based on time with the company, keeping up with certification requirements and attending training classes. Master Guild members must already be Master Certified and then are chosen by the Regional Managers. Only 160 employees from the whole US market are picked for this recognition each year!

The time has come to reset the clock in your vehicle. Some of your vehicles may have automatically reset...some may have done so on the wrong day...and some might not do it at all! Here are some of the standard ways to reset the clock.
