Mercedes-Benz Innovation – Autoblog

Autoblog recently posted Five Mind-Blowing Innovations from Mercedes-Benz.  It is a wonderful sampling of just a few of the technologies that Mercedes-Benz is developing for improved safety and vehicle enjoyment. I know a lot of you have probably seen this…because people keep forwarding it to me! 126 years ago horses were your only option to get to town…Now, we are just a few years away from the car driving itself in a traffic jam and optimizing the suspension for the potholes while you talk to “Gloria” about taking a detour! Thanks to Autoblog for highlighting these five!

Mercedes-Benz mbrace Introduces Send2Benz!

mbrace customers now have several new methods for remotely sending locations to the navigation system in their Mercedes-Benz.

mbrace Mobile Application: send current location, enter known address, send address from iPhone contacts, search for and send Points of Interest and request a friend’s location with Drive2Friend feature.

mbrace Browser Toolbar Widget: highlight an address found on any webpage and send the address to your Mercedes-Benz.

Send2Benz.com: enter known address or use the Drive2Friend feature.

Search & Send: using Google Maps, the address is sent by entering the e-mail address associated with your mbrace account. Select More on the location’s information tag. Then select send and Mercedes-Benz.  Complete the rest of the info and you’re all set.

Now you can send address to your vehicle through the internet or your smart phone and they will be ready when you get in the car!  You can find all of the details as well as the downloads for the toolbar on the Mercedes-Benz mbrace website. Once you have an address sent to the car just press the i-button and the download will be complete. I tried it out in my 2011 E-Class and it worked like a charm!

E-Class Safety Training Class is Wrapped Up!

MBUSA brought us a very special wrapped E-Class today for a training session on some of our safety systems over the years. There is hardly enough room on the vehicle to list all of the underlying safety features that Mercedes has developed and implemented to keep owners from having an accident or being harmed if one should occur! It was a great new way to see the E-Class!

Mercedes-Benz Impact Stories

Mercedes-Benz USA has posted several short films, featuring real Mercedes-Benz owners who walked away from serious accidents thanks to their vehicles.  These owners are just some of the hundreds that regularly contact Mercedes-Benz with wonderful stories of survival and perspective.

I’ve heard many similar stories firsthand as clients of our collision center come in to purchase their next Mercedes-Benz. It is absolutely amazing how these cars can absorb and deflect energy to keep the occupants safe!

You can view all of the videos and even submit your own story here. If you are the type to cry at Hallmark commercials I wouldn’t watch these at work!

2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet – AIRCAP

2011 E-Class Cabriolet Aircap Deflector

The AIRCAP system on the 2011 E-Class Cabriolet will continue to increase the amount of time you can enjoy your Mercedes with the top down. Building on the AIRSCARF system currently available on the SLK and SL, AIRCAP will create a calm air zone in the passenger compartment making it both more comfortable at higher speeds and easier to heat or cool. A front deflector raises up from the top of the windshield to both redirect air higher over the passenger cabin and allow air slowed down by its screen to enter the cabin and maintain a pocket of calmer air.

2011 E-Class Cabriolet Aircap Deflector

Current CLK Cabriolet owners will enjoy not having to install and uninstall a wind deflector anymore. Additionally, you will be able to raise and lower the top at speeds below 25mph.
