Atlanta Classic Cars has just been allocated 10 C300 Sports with MSRPs of $33,915. These are brand new C-Classes, with only the automatic transmission and sport packages. Cars with just these two options pretty rare. They are White, Black or Red – all with the Black interior.

The 2008 C300 is well equipped with standard sunroof, power seats, Bluetooth and automatic headlights. You can see all the details at the Mercedes-Benz website.

We were just allocated an extra 2009 SL550 Silver Arrow Edition! One of only 550 produced for the US market this year, this car is rare and won’t be available for long. It is currently at the port and should arrive at the dealership this week.

MSRP is $112,500 including the illuminated door sills. You can read all of the details of the Silver Arrow Edition models in my earlier post.

Formula One’s visit to the streets of Monaco is always a highlight of the season. With the elimination of traction control this year’s race was already going to be exciting. Then it started to rain.

McLaren Mercedes drives Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen qualified third and fourth behind the Ferraris. Lewis jumped to second off the start. On lap six Lewis clipped a wall and damaged a tire forcing him to pit. Between the rain and accidents Lewis was able to take the lead and open up a 40 second gap. With the race almost over the Safety Car came out eliminating Lewis’ lead. After the restart he easily held the lead and opened up a 3 second gap in the next eleven laps before the race was ended by the 2 hour time limit.

Heikki’s car failed to get off the line for the formation lap so he had to start from the pit lane. He fought back to finish in eighth.

With this win Lewis Hamilton has taken the lead in the drivers’ championship by three points. McLaren Mercedes has moved up to second in the constructors championship just 16 points behind Ferrari.

A little update on the ACC Breast Friends…

I am 76% of the way to my $2200 goal to participate in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer 3-Day walk in October! I have also started my training for the walk and have logged 33 miles in the last 2 weeks.

As a team, the ACC Breast Friends are 36% of the way to our team goal. In addition to our individual donations we have raised another 10% through our Bake Sales! While the look of the CLS has remained just about the same (why mess with perfection!) the value has gone up substantially. Navigation has become standard equipment – and not the old navigation but the new system that debuted in the C-Class and that will be in the E, ML, GL and R-Classes this year. The old P2 Package is gone and all of the desireable equipment – Xenons and Keyless GO – have been added into P1 Package. The P1 Package went up in price, from $2860 in 2008 to $3950 for 2009 which is less than 2008 P2 at $4770.

Mercedes just sent out an information sheet on the 2010 GLK350 4Matic. I have included the 4 pages here as a PDF for you.

This SUV will be slightly smaller than the ML350 and will share a lot with the C-Class. This is the first time I have seen a real interior picture. Notice that it has the same steering wheel, armrest, instrument cluster, door buttons and climate control as the 2008 C-Class.

You’ll be able to see a lot more of the GLK in the new “Sex and the City” movie. From what I understand, one of the women drives the new GLK and Mr. Big is chauffered in an S550 as well!

The 2009 E350 is expected to arrive in the US this July. Mercedes will be continuing with the choice of Sport or Luxury in this model.

On Saturday Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton qualified second and third respectively. Cool temperatures in Istanbul during the race weekend made for difficult tire decisions for all of the teams. As a result of this Lewis switched to a less conventional 3 stop strategy. With his lower fuel load he was able to make up most of the time lost in his extra stop to finish second between the Ferraris. This was one of the best races this season. I can’t wait for Monaco in two weeks.
