Thanks for visiting my blog! Please contact me if you're thinking about purchasing a Mercedes-Benz in the
This is Bertha! She is a 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550 that I picked up in Germany and took on an epic European Road Trip! She will be for sale when she arrives back in the US and is looking for a good home. Let me tell you about her.
She has the speed! With 449 horsepower and 519 lb/ft of torque you will love the power! I even took her by the AMG factory in case there was any extra horsepower in the air.
She is very maneuverable. With the help of the Surround View Cameras I was able to park her in some interesting places to get good pictures. Look at those LED headlamps sparkle!
Bertha has visited many Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Europe and made quite an impression! I was inside this little dealership looking at the A-Class and when I came outside their employees were all looking at her!
She can handle anything! She conquered those mountains easily. Great suspension, electromechanical steering and comfortable seats make it a breeze!
She has seen more snow than 90% of the cars in Georgia and never flinched! Her 4matic system is top notch!
She looks right at home in front of the Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich. This is a car meant for a palace. The 20″ multi-spoke wheels are like a crown on the ground!
Even cats love her!
The Silk Beige interior is very photogenic but it is the Distronic Plus with Steering Assist that really impresses! At under 30 mph you don’t even have to have a hand on the wheel as she tracks the car in front of you!
Perhaps she is a bit of a Big Bertha for European parking garages but I am sure there is more room at your house.
Bertha looks her best in flowered courtyards. The Diamond White paint really glows in the sunshine!
She was a champion on mountain roads, coastal cruises and simply parking at a scenic overlook. She will arrive in the US in 6-8 weeks with 2400 miles and a photo album that no other 2015 S550 can claim! I would keep her if I could but since I can’t it is my mission to find her a good home! Get in touch if Bertha is your next Mercedes-Benz!
You are now getting my Euro Delivery Experience all out of order! This was day 3. We drove from Switzerland to northern Italy to experience the Stelvio Pass! This road is world famous for the twists and turns through the Alps. As you’ll see it is full of motorcycles, bicycles, cars and the occasional tractor. This is a 6 minute video but we really did this type of driving for 3 hours! It was shockingly well mapped by the navigation system. Worth the detour if you find yourself in the area. Just follow the herds of bikes!
This 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550 4Matic was special ordered for a client months ago. It was especially stunning!
It is worth the wait for the perfect car to be built just for you!
This 2015 S63 AMG came in sold and left just a few hours later. I was able to get a few pictures as it sped by!
The 2015 S550 and S63 AMG have been released to the US dealers! They should start to arrive in the next few days!

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a marvel of technology, beauty and power. It is a joy to drive and a real advancement in vehicle safety and convenience. With that said, there are so many features it is hard to absorb it all in one introductory lesson (or two lessons…or three).
For all of you S-Class Class owners who have got the basics down it is time to get fancy! Mercedes-Benz has posted a variety of instructional videos on the Mercecdes-Benz YouTube channel to help you maximize your understanding of your new marvel! Take a look!
And for those of you who don’t have a new 2014 S-Class yet…it is still amazing to see what these vehicles can do!
Here are some pictures of a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 that just arrived for a client. This is the first car we have received in Anthracite Blue and I wanted to try to get some pictures for future reference. As always, color is hard to capture so I parked it next to an Indigo Blue E350 Bluetec and a Lunar Blue E350. I’m not sure it helped!
At first glance it looks Steel Grey to me. In the right light, if you are looking for it, you can see the blue.
This car also features the Deep Sea Blue designo Interior which is stunning!
That is my best attempt to capture this new color. If you are considering it I would recommend you like Steel Grey and then picture it a little blue.
Mercedes-Benz is famous for safety and technology. We have been innovating the automobile since we invented it more than 125 years ago! These days there are more Assist and -Tronic features than ever before and it can get a little confusing. Here is short rundown on the common systems. You can visit the Mercedes-Benz Safety Page for some videos and more in depth explanations.
Attention Assist aka “the coffee cup” – Observes driver for initial 20 minutes of driving (over about 30 mph) and looks for changes that would indicate drowsiness. Beeps and flashes a big coffee cup to alert when there is an issue. No intervention in driving. Newer models do not display the coffee cup icon full time.
Collision Prevention Assist (CPA) – A radar on the front of the vehicle looks for impending collisions and alerts by beeping if it sees a problem. It then does the math on necessary brake force to stop in time and primes the brakes and boosts braking power. This system cannot stop the car or slow the car without driver action. Standard on most 2014 models.
Blind Spot Assist – Uses radar in the rear of the car to look for vehicles in your blind spot. Yellow triangle in mirror up to about 20 mph indicates system is on but not functioning yet. The triangle turns red when blind spot is occupied and flashes red and beeps if you engage the turn signal during a red triangle. Active Blind Spot Assist is the same but will intervene by braking the car or using electromechanical steering to pull you back into your lane.
Lane Keep Assist – Uses a camera behind the windshield to monitor the lane lines and vibrates the steering wheel if you inadvertently cross the lane line. Will not alert you if you have the turn signal on or the steering angle is severe. Newer cars have more and less sensitive settings available. Active Lane Keep Assist is the same but will intervene by braking the car or using electromechanical steering to pull you back into your lane.
Distronic – Radar adaptive cruise control that keeps you a comfortable distance from the vehicle in front of you. Now functions down to 0 miles per hour. If engaged it can use 100% of the vehicle braking power to prevent an accident. Follow distance is adjustable.
Steering Assist – This system engages over 40 mph and uses the stereo cameras and electromechanical steering to keep the car centered in a lane or behind the vehicle in front. Will only operate for a few seconds if the driver removes their hands from the wheel…but we know they can drive themselves!
PRE-SAFE – If the car senses and impending collision it takes action to protect the passengers. It can cinch the seatbelts, adjust the passenger seat to a more favorable position, close windows and more to reduce injury. If no accident occurs the actions are reversed.
Pre-Safe Plus with Rear-Collision Protection – Looks behind the vehicle for an impending collision and actives Pre-Safe features as well as using the brakes to hold the car in place rather than being pushed into another vehicle or traffic.
Pre-Safe Brake with Pedestrian Recognition aka the soccer ball thing – If the vehicle sees a pedestrian it can automatically engage the brakes while alerting the driver with beeps.
BAS Plus with Cross-Traffic Assist – Uses the stereo cameras to look for cross traffic and can boost braking power when necessary.
Some of these features are standard, some are optional and some are only available on select models at this time. But, just like airbags that we patented in 1971, all of these safety features will probably become standard on every vehicle in the world eventually!
