The 2017 S63 Cabriolet dropped by for a training class today. It was love at first sight! As gorgeous as the S-Class coupe is, the cabriolet is even better!
It is scheduled for release next month, June 2016. I have one available!
Here is a video I just posted as well. More on my Facebook page.
I love it when my favorite tings come together in one place!
Model year 2017 is going to be a great one! If you haven’t been cruising the Future Models Page at MBUSA.com get over there and start planning! The S-Class Cabriolet is sure to have a wait list, the C-Class coupe is a knockout and the new GLS-Class is going to get me a million GL-Class trade-ins! Order early!
A client called to say that his Drive Dynamic Multi Contour Seats only worked sometimes. The drivers’ seat would work for a while, the passenger seat would work for a while but neither would work consistently.
After a little fiddling and some road testing I figured out that when the side bolsters were manually inflated over level 6 it prevented the bolsters from inflating around corners! Interesting!
I fixed it!
Starting in Model Year 2016, many Mercedes-Benz models are equipped with remote start through the mbrace system! GLE-Class, GLC-Class, most S-Class and the C-Class sedan are ready to go! Other models will be added down the line. This cannot be retrofit!
When you login to the mbrace app on your phone you will see this screen: (click on image to see larger)
Once you have hit remote start the signal runs through two secure servers and your vehicle starts:
Now, where did you leave your Mercedes-Benz?
For 2016, Selenite Grey has been made available on many models and Palladium Silver has been discontinued. I was trying to describe this color as the New Palladium but the more I looked at it, the less Palladium it looked. So, I pulled together all of my greys and here is what I came up with!
From Left to Right: Palladium Silver S550, Selenite Grey E350, Mountain Grey CLA250 and Steel Grey C300
I think Palladium is lighter and has more gold than Selenite.
If you compare the Steel C300 (closest) to the Mountain Grey CLA250, the Steel looks very blue and the Mountain looks a touch brown.
I think this is the best light/angle I captured to show the different colors.
I hope there is a color or paint expert out there that can tell me how to explain these! Until then it will remain light grey, medium grey and dark grey.
I have often used the Active Park Assist to pull into parallel spots but I have not used the system to back into a spot before. Now I have! Please share and subscribe to my new YouTube channel!

I am back from another European Delivery adventure! In early April I picked up this 2015 S550 coupe from the factory in Sindelfingen and embarked on my second European Delivery adventure. I call this S550 coupe Bertie and he will be available for sale when he arrives back at Atlanta Classic Cars in 6-8 weeks. I intend to write more detailed reviews and trip notes later but I wanted to include some highlights ASAP!
I took advantage of the Black Forest Alps Package through Mercedes-Benz and we stayed at some gorgeous hotels around Germany. The above photo is Bertie in front of the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof in Frankfurt.
We visited the famed Nurburgring, and while we could not drive Bertie on the track we experienced quite a bit of amateur racing!
Bertie could not take a bad picture, but the scenic countryside in The Netherlands was like being in a postcard! The Kuekenhof Gardens are a must-see in April/May.
We also visited a lot of big cities, including Brussels, Belgium.
There just wasn’t a bad stop! As always, everything with Mercedes-Benz was top-notch. I cannot say enough great things about the drive, comfort and speed of the S550. The Black Forest hotels were perfect in every way. Feel free to call or e-mail with any specific questions. I will post more as I go through my pictures and get settled back in!
